Robert Czajkowski, a lifelong resident of Wilkes Barre, passed away Wednesday evening at Wilkes Barre General Hospital, after an illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria (Vickie) Wheeler Czajkowski. Wed on August 18, 1973, the couple celebrated 41 years of marriage.
Born on April 2, 1950, son of the late Charles and Harriet Jamilkowski Czajkowski, Robert was a graduate of the former Marymount High School. Upon graduation, he joined the Army National Guard where he proudly served his country for 34 years. Prior to becoming ill, he worked for InterMetro Industries of Wilkes Barre. A family man, Robert’s priorities revolved around his family. His selfless and caring nature will be forever remembered by those who loved him.
He is also survived by his children, Amy Pascale and husband Philip and Robert C. Czajkowski and fiance Sarah Bennett, all of Wilkes Barre; brothers, Charles King and wife Marie of Annapolis, Maryland, and George Czajkowski of Hanover Twp.; a sister, Carol Daru and husband George of Wilkes Barre; and many nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren, Emily and Mathew Czajkowski, also preceded him in death.
His family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Denise M. Klynowsky, primary physician and family friend, for the amazing care and compassion she provided. They will forever appreciate it.
Military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard are scheduled for Sunday at 4:00PM at the Daniel J. Hughes Funeral Home, 617 Carey Avenue in Wilkes Barre. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday at the funeral home between 1:00PM and service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
