Obituaries

Jose A. “Culon” Cosme, 34, a 10 year resident of Scranton, died Wednesday evening in the VNA Inpatient Unit at Geisinger-CMC after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife of 9 years is Christine M. Musto.
Born in Corozal, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Raul and Genoveva Morales Cosme. Jose was employed by the Radisson Lackawanna Station prior to his illness. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Jose loved dancing and cooking and was involved in the Spanish Festival. He enjoyed playing the lottery, especially the Powerball and Megamillions. He affectionately referred to everyone as “mama” and “papa”. Jose ‘s loving way and gusto for life will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are: his beloved children, Yanilise “Lili”, Yerick “Gordo”, Yeremy :Mune”, and Izeyah Cosme; Hayley “Mi Nena” Contreras; and Jaycee Perez, all at home

A Memorial Mass has been scheduled for Tuesday to begin at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
Arrangements are under the care of Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Ave, Scranton.
