Victoria (Vicky) Febo, age 86, a lifelong resident of Old Forge, died Friday evening at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Angelo D. “Chilly” Febo, on August 12, 2008. The couple were married for 57 years.
Born on February 27, 1928, Victoria was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Jennie Pann Meranti. Educated at Old Forge High School, she worked her entire life in the local garment industry, prior to retirement. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge. An active member of the Old Forge Senior Citizens, she was also a member of the Italian-American Association and enjoyed following the Big Band Association. She will be forever missed by her dear family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Marie Conforti and husband Charles of Old Forge; her brothers, Ralph Meranti of Fairview, New Jersey and Joseph Meranti of Taylor; and her godchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and special friends.
A sister, Catherine Doria; and a brother, John Meranti, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church at Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, Pastor. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Victoria’s name to Prince of Peace Parish, 123 W. Grace Street in Old Forge, Pa., 18518.
