Aaron D. Pilger, Jr., age 57, of Moosic, died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a courageous battle with Liver Disease. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Gordon Pilger. Wed on September 11, 1976, the couple celebrated 38 years of marriage.
Born on January 27, 1958 and raised in West Scranton, he was the son of Laura Topa Pilger of Scranton, and the late Aaron Pilger, Sr. A graduate of West Scranton High School, Class of 1975, he worked for Motorworld in Wilkes Barre. A dedicated Parts Advisor within their service department, Aaron spent over 15 years working there, prior to his illness. Through work or as a NASCAR fan, he was passionate about cars. He passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children. He will be forever missed.
As a cornea donor, his legacy will live on through those who are to benefit after his death.
He is also survived by his children, David Pilger, Sr., and fiance Nicole McDermott of Scranton and Lindsey Pilger, at home; his siblings, George Pilger and wife Melanie of Scranton and Barbara Correll and husband Tom of Old Forge; five grandchildren, Joshua and Zachary Lyckowski, David Pilger, Jr., and Ryleigh and Bentley Pilger, and cousins.
His family would like to thank the entire I.C.U. staff of Wilkes Barre General Hospital for the comfort they collectively provided during this difficult time.
