Mark Satchell, age 63, of Lake Ariel, passed away Monday in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger C.M.C., Scranton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Esmeralda Satchell. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on March 30, 1989.
Born on January 24, 1952 and son of the late Preston and Irene Singleton Satchell, Mark was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. A social worker by trade, he worked at several local juvenile detention centers prior to his illness. A passionate musician who excelled as a pianist, he played in several bands, including “Covered in Blues.” He’ll be forever missed by his loving family and friends.
He is also survived by his children, sons, Marko, Rene and Malcolm Satchell; daughters, Nia Cherry, Monae Nickerson, Alissa and Eselina Satchell; five siblings; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services have been scheduled for Mark Satchell, age 63 of Lake Ariel, who died on Monday in the V.N.A. Hospice Inpatient Unit of Geisinger C.M.C., Scranton. Blessing Services by Rev. James A. Wert will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 23rd, at the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Avenue in Scranton. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from noon until services.
