Mary E. Anzelmi Papi, age 53, of Moosic, passed away Sunday morning at home. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Papi. The couple celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on June 23, 2014.
Born in Old Forge, daughter of the late Francis and Helen Cummings Anzelmi, Mary was a graduate of Old Forge High School. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from College Misericordia, she later achieved a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from the University of Scranton. After working as a buyer for Techneglas Corp. in Pittston for 15 years prior to its closing, she was reecently named Operational Contact for Printing and Mailing Services at the University of Scranton.
A former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Old Forge, Mary always enjoyed gardening, learning, and had played in a women’s golf league years ago. She will be forever missed by her relatives and friends.
She is survived by her two beloved children, Jessica and Anthony Papi, both of Moosic; three brothers, Nicholas Anzelmi of Old Forge, Frank Anzelmi and wife Jeanette of Old Forge and Dr. John Anzelmi and wife Lisa of Montdale; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday at noon at St. Mary of the Assumption Church at Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace Street in Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August Ricciardi, Pastor. Interment will follow in the Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P.
