Obituaries

Eileen Kelly, age 55, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Sunday at Regional Hospital.
Daughter of Evelyn Lynch Kelly and the late John J. (Jack) Kelly, who passed away on June 9th, Eileen was a graduate of Bishop O’Hara High School, Class of 1977. She was employed at Mercy Hospital for many years, until her health began to fail. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton.
She faced many challenges in life and persevered through it all with great determination, never losing her sense of humor. Her family was her life, and her many nieces and nephews meant the world to her.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sisters, Colleen Richards and Kathleen Buck and husband Brian; her brother, Brian Kelly and wife Michelle; and nieces and nephews, Kristin Hodgins and husband Tim, Kevin Buck and wife Megan, Adam Richards, Kelly Tigue and husband Michael, Justin Richards, and Peter, Aurora, Pierce, Lorelei and Emony Kelly; great nieces and great nephews, Tyler Hodgins and Caroline and Kelsey Buck; and several aunts and cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday to begin at 9:15AM from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue in Scranton, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue in Scranton. Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 5-7:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eileen’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
