Anthony F. (Tony) Barycki, age 30, of Old Forge, died Thursday after tragically succumbing to his fifteen-year addiction.
Born on September 19, 1984, and raised in Old Forge, he was the son of Donald, Sr., and Marita Walsh Barycki of Old Forge. Tony was a graduate of Old Forge High School, Class of 2003, and he worked as a mechanic for Keyser Valley Auto Wreckers in Scranton.
A football fan, Tony cheered on Old Forge High School and enjoyed nothing more than watching Sunday football with his Dad. An outdoorsman, he loved any type of outdoor activity especially quadding, when given the chance, with his brothers and friends. A dedicated worker with a heart of gold, he especially loved his family. He will be forever missed by all who knew him.
He is also survived by his brothers, Donald Barycki, Jr., and wife Robin of Duryea, and Kris Barycki and wife Jennifer of Pittston; four nieces; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:15AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Basilica, St. Ann Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Francis Landry, C.P., Pastor. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 5-8:00PM at the funeral home.
