Joseph Gorleski, a lifelong resident of Scranton, passed away Thursday under the care of Commonwealth Hospice at Regional Hospital in Scranton.
Born on September 4, 1959, Joseph was educated in Scranton Schools. Well organized, he took great pride in his work for The Arc of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Throughout his life, Joseph touched the lives of many. He will be remembered for his loving and caring nature, his infectious smile and his flirting skills. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, listening to music, painting and crafts. Loved by all who knew him, he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving caregivers, Janice Muskey and John Gallone; his extended family, Andy, Sue, Renee, Fabby, Jeff, Mike and Ed, as well as the entire day support team of The Arc.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 8:45AM from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue in Scranton, with a 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick J. McLaughlin. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects on Monday between 4-6:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joseph’s name to The arc of Northeastern Pennsylvania Foundation.
