Annmarie T. Kelly Michalik, age 75, of West Scranton, died Saturday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Raymond P. Michalik, Sr., in 2008.
A lifelong resident of Scranton, she was born on July 27, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Roche Kelly. Educated in Scranton Schools, after being employed by the dietary department of the former Mercy Hospital, she went on to raise her adoring family. Of devoted Roman Catholic faith, she was a loyal member of St. Patrick’s Parish in West Scranton. She loved dancing and always had fond memories of her swing-session dancing days. She was an avid fan of western movies, especially those starring John Wayne. She was a loving and family-oriented mother, grandmother and aunt who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her three children, Kathleen Manuel and husband Galand, Jr., Raymond P. Michalik, Jr. and Lisa Michalik, all of Scranton; three adoring grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley and Jonathan; and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers, Anthony and William Kelly, also preceded her in death.
Her family wishes to thank both Dr. Emma Rubin and her staff and also the staff of Celtic Home Hospice, especially Kari and Lisa, for the collective care given to both Annmarie and her family.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Thursday at 9:30AM from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street in Scranton. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday between 5-8PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Annmarie’s name to St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street, Scranton, 18504.
