Patricia M. Ermel, age 76, of Duryea and formerly of Old Forge, passed Saturday at home. She was preceded in death by husband, Bernard Ermel.
Born in Duryea on November 6, 1938, daughter of the late Carlo, Sr., and Josephine Niewiadowski Stallo, Patricia was a graduate of Duryea High School. A well-known local server at the Old Forge American Legion and V.F.W., she also worked at the former Third Rail. Upon earning her Commercial Driving License, she drove tractor trailor. A brown belt in Kung Fu, she was also an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. She was loyal to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Duryea. Possessing a caring heart, she served as a foster parent. She will be dearly missed by her dear family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Aaron Ermel of Moosic and James Burke of Old Forge; four grandchildren, Ryan Ermel, with whom she resided, Christina Young, Abel VanValen and Stevin Ermel; two siblings, Carlo Stallo, Jr. and Louise Phelan, both of Arizona; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Ermel.
Private services were conducted on Saturday evening in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
