Maureen Theresa Brennan, age 80, of South Abington Twp., died Sunday afternoon at home. She was preceded by her beloved husband, Paul A. Brennan, Jr., on August 31, 1984.
Born in Bryn Mawr on October 24, 1933, daughter of the late Alfred and Rita Crossan Ryder, Maureen was a graduate of Haverford High School in Havertown. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a packer for ALFA Packaging in Croydon. Prior to moving to South Abington Twp. to live with her family nine years ago, she was very active in Bucks County as a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Ladies’ Auxiliary; the Senior Center; and was an avid line dancer. Her family meant the world to her. A loving mother, grandmother, great mother and sister, she will be forever missed by those who loved her.
Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a devoted member of The Church of St. Gregory in Clarks Green.
She is survived by her children, Paul Brennan, III, and wife Mary, at home, and Joelle Garrison and husband Robert of Chester, Virginia; her siblings, Thomas Ryder and wife Janice of Texas, Joanne Ryder and Eleanor Sheridan, both of Bryn Mawr, and Janet Stuart and husband Phil of Broomall; seven adoring grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
An infant son, Thomas James Brennan; and two brothers, Alfred and John Patrick Ryder, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday at 10AM at The Church of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Green, to be celebrated by Rev. John M. Lapera, Pastor. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 9:00AM and Mass at the church.
Arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
