Sue Killino, 96, of Old Forge, died Wednesday at Riverside Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Taylor. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Killino Sr., in 1987.
Born in Taylor on Sept. 8, 1917, daughter of the late Pauline and Michael Churnock, Sue was educated in Taylor schools. After her retirement as a laborer in the local garment industry, she served as the cook, server and lunch lady for St. Mary’s School cafeteria, a job she enjoyed for many years. She was a lifelong member of Prince of Peace Parish in Old Forge, while also belonging to the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. An avid bingo player, Sue never missed an opportunity to play, especially at both Eagle McClure Hose Company or at church functions. She also loved trips to the casino, especially in Atlantic City or Las Vegas. A loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, she will be dearly missed by all of her loved ones.
She is survived by her children: son, Joseph Killino Jr. and wife, Sharon, Palmer Twp.; and daughter, Jean Killino Rinaldi, Old Forge; seven adoring grandchildren, Robin Rinaldi; Robert Rinaldi and wife, Lisa; Rick Rinaldi and wife, Amanda; Russell Rinaldi; Lisa Fistner and husband, Jim; Scott Killino and fiancée, Lisa Brown; and Todd Killino and wife, Kim; six great-grandchildren, Josephine and Jocelyn Killino, Jessica and Sarah Fistner, Robert Rinaldi III and Russell Rinaldi Jr.; many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Churnock Sr.; and two sisters, Anna Semion and Mary Ashman.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Moses Taylor Hospital, Traditional Hospice and Dr. Armando Sallavanti for their compassionate care.
