Ann T. Flynn, age 95, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Saturday evening on the feast of her namesake at Holy Family Residence in Scranton where she had been a fourteen year resident. Born in West Scranton on January 2, 1919, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Hopkins Flynn, Ann was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a presser for numerous local factories. Of strong Roman Catholic faith, Ann was a devoted member to St. Patrick’s Parish. The focal point of her life was her church, having volunteered for numerous church functions and was a member of the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Flynn; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Siblings, John, Joseph and Mary Flynn; and nephews, John and Michael Flynn, also preceded her in death.
Her family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to Ann’s extended family, the Little Sisters of the Poor and Holy Family Residence staff, for the love and care given to Ann throughout her stay with them.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday at Holy Family Residence Chapel, 2500 Adams Avenue in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. E. Francis Kelly, Chaplain. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the residence on Tuesday between 4-6:00PM and Wednesday from 10:00AM until Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s name to either Little Sisters of the Poor, 2500 Adams Avenue, Scranton 18509, or to St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street, Scranton, 18504.
