Obituaries

Catherine Graziano, age 73, a lifelong resident of Taylor, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Frank D. Graziano, on August 25, 2009. Born on August 11, 1940, daughter of the late William and Catherine Jenkins Johns, Catherine was educated in the former Taylor High School before working as a seamstress for Bon-Craft, Inc., Vermont Co., Hy-Grade Co. and Brooks Manufacturing. Prior to her illness, she served as a laundry supervisor for the Comfort Inn and Suites in Scranton. She was an avid gardener who adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hard working and loving, she’ll be forever missed by all of those who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Lee Derenick, at home; her sons, Fred Baker and wife Jennifer of Avoca, and William Baker and wife Tracy of Moosic; her brothers, David Johns, Sr., of Moosic, and Bruce Johns, Sr., of Binghamton, New York; her five grandchildren, Amy, Tammy, Brittany, Jessica and Michael; four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Annabella and Sophia; and many nieces and nephews.
A sister, Arlene Paff; and a granddaughter, Jamie Baker, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11:00AM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, to be conducted by Rev. Dr. Michael J. Shambora. Interment will follow in the Milwaukee Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday between 5-8:00PM at the funeral home.
