Obituaries

Bernice Gaura, age 74, of the Greenwood section of Moosic, passed away Tuesday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Leonard (Archie) Gaura, on November 11, 2009.
Born in Taylor on July 12, 1939, daughter of the late Frank, Sr., and Violet Kwak Godlewski, Bernice was a graduate of the former Taylor High School, Class of 1957. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a book keeper for Linden Dress Factory and Kline Binding Company. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a member of Divine Mercy Parish. She enjoyed camping and fishing and adored her Pomeranian, “Sparky.” She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her siblings, sisters, Joan Mulherin of Scranton, and Patricia Valencia and husband Joseph of Moosic, and brothers, Robert Godlewski of Moosic, Frank Godlewski, Jr., and wife Millie of Taylor, and Ronald Godlewski and wife Dolly of Old Forge; and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the entire Intensive Care Staff, especially Diane, of Regional Hospital in Scranton for the care given to both Bernice and her family.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Friday at 9:30AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy, 312 Davis Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Francis L. Pauselli, Pastor. Interment will follow in Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday between 5-8:00PM at the funeral home.
