Bernard Brzostowski, 73, a resident of Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor for the past 10 years, died Saturday morning at Geisinger-CMC, Scranton.
Born in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Joseph and Victoria Potempa Brzostowski. He was a proud graduate of St. Ann’s High School, Class of 1961.
A sports enthusiast, Bernard read every sports magazine ever published and was a wealth of sports knowledge. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Riverside for their compassionate care and many kindnesses toward Bernard during his stay.
Surviving are a brother, Rev. Hilary Brzostowski, OFM, Riverside, NJ; 4 sisters, Regina Kenia, Duryea; Josephine Pagnotti, Old Forge; Elizabeth Salitis, Duryea; and Barbara Michalowski, Scranton; several nieces and nephews
Bernard was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Juba, and two brothers, Joseph and Edward Brostowski.
A Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at Noon in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N Main Street, Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. Francis Landry, C.P., pastor of St. Ann’s Basilica. Private interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge.
Relative and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
