Rachel Morris, age 92 and a lifelong resident of Taylor, passed away Wednesday evening under the care of Commonwealth Hospice Inpatient Unit at Regional Hospital in Scranton. Born on February 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Evan and Delia Daley Morris. Prior to her retirement at 85, she worked as receptionist and executive housekeeper for the Thomas P. Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a devoted member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Taylor.
She is survived by her nephews; great nieces and nephews; and an extended family who cared deeply for her.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Leonard, Richard, Joseph and Evan Morris; a sister, Della Buranich; and a beloved sister-in-law, Mirella Morris.
Her family wishes to acknowledge the staffs of both Regional Hospital and Commonwealth Hospice for their exceptional kindness.
