Obituaries

Deborah Royce Martin, age 58, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Friday under the care of the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. Born on April 29, 1955, daughter of the late John “Jack” and Delores Williams Royce, Deborah was an animal lover who adored her cat “Pudy” and fish “Trooper”. A loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed, she will never be forgotten by those who loved her.
She is survived by her two sons, Chris Martin and wife Cassie, and Sean Martin and wife Carrie, all of Scranton; brothers, Robbie and John Royce, Jr., both of Scranton; sisters, Bonnie Royce and Karen Gerrity, both of Dunmore, Sherry Royce of Scranton, and Deanna Royce of Moosic; four grandchildren, Victoria, Kalub, Cullen and Kayleigh; and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers, Gary and Randy Royce, also preceded her in death.
A blessing service is scheduled for Wednesday at 11:00AM at the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 10:00AM until services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Deborah’s name to Friends of the Poor, 2300 Adams avenue, Scranton, 18503.
