Obituaries

Esther Belles, age 71, of Moosic, died Wednesday evening at home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Milton Belles, on January 25, 2008. Born in Plymouth on June 19, 1942, daughter of Margaret and William Evans, Esther was a graduate of Pittston High School.
She was a loving woman who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children, Christine Cremard and husband Dr. Fiore of Old Forge, and son, Howard Belles and fiance Rebecca; many nieces and nephews, especially Gary and Katie Belles, whom Esther considered her grandchildren; dearest friends, Phyllis Harrison and Norma Rosati; and her dog, Ricky, who she adored.
Siblings, George Evans, Tony Wierkowski, Williams Evans, Maryann Peeler and Sister Marianita Wierkowski, all preceded her in death.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at Queen of the Apostles Parish, 715 Hawthorne Street in Avoca, to be celebrated by Rev. Phillip Sladicka, Pastor. Interment will follow at Spring Brook Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
