Obituaries

Frank Ferraro, Sr., age 90, of Springbrook Twp., passed away Wednesday at Mountain View Care Center in Scranton. He was preceded in death in 1998 by his wife, Linda Raya Ferraro. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 12, 1923, son of the late Louise and Dominic Ferraro, Frank proudly served our country in the Marine Corps. during WWII. In his youth, he worked for his family’s farm in Brooklyn before starting Ferraro Brothers Carpentry. For seventeen years prior to his retirement, he worked in maintenance for the New York City Housing Authority in Brooklyn. A handyman who enjoyed gardening, it was his family whom was most important to him. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
He is survived by sons, Frank Ferraro, Jr., and wife Jacque, with whom he resided, and Bradley Ferraro of Bethlehem; a daughter, Darlene DiTerlizzi and husband Joseph of Bethlehem; sisters, Ronnie and Emily of Brooklyn; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers, Joseph, Louis and Charles; and a sister, Josie, also preceded him in death.
His family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Mountain View Care Center for the care given to Frank throughout his stay.
Incense services by Rev. Francis Marini, Pastor of Saint Ann Maronite Church, are scheduled for Sunday at 4:00PM in the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00PM until services.
Interment will be held on Monday at 11:00AM in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, VA, 23060.
