George Dillon, age 76, of Moosic, formerly of East Providence, RI died Tuesday afternoon at Celtic Hospice Community Care in Dunmore . He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Covill Geiser-Dillon. Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, on June 30, 1937, son of the late Herman and Esther Downing Wilson, and brother of the late Charles Robert Dillon, George worked as a sheet rocker for Tolson & Galligan prior to his retirement in 1995. A proud United States Veteran, he was a member of the Navy Seabees. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
He is also survived by a son, Michael Dillon of Foster, Rhode Island; a daughter, Patricia Dillon of Riverside, R.I.; a step-daughter, Elizabeth Reilly of Port St. Lucie, Florida; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. George was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 314 in Scranton and a member and past commander of the American Legion, Post 311, Seekonk, MA.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at the Perry-McStay Funeral Home of East Providence, Rhode Island, with interment to follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Local arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street in Old Forge.
