Lillian Ellard Huggler

April 26, 1926 - October 13, 2018

Lillian Huggler, age 92, a lifelong resident of Taylor, passed away Saturday afternoon. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Fred Huggler, on April 6, 1998.
Born on April 26, 1926, raised in Taylor, and daughter of the late Rudolph and Estelle Ellard, Lillian was a graduate of the former Taylor High School where she earned class Salutatorian honors. For 40 years prior to her retirement in 1983 she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company.
Alongside her husband, Lillian was an avid traveler. From Egypt to Italy, her travels spanned much of the globe. She was also a lifelong member of the Moosic Assembly of God where she held an active role within all church functions. Church was a major part of her life and she considered the congregation her extended family.
Above everything was Lillian’s family, especially her nieces and nephew whom she considered her children. Known as “Aunt Lil” by all. She passed away peacefully and will forever be missed.
She is survived by her nephew, Bruce Zahornacky of Taylor; her nieces, Cindy Rigby and husband Steve of Plant City, FL., Debbie Dolgash and husband John of Moosic and Kim Rosencrance and husband Daniel of Clarks Summit; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Jane Ellard of Moosic.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Esther Zahornacky, Albert Ellard and an infant sister, Lovina.
Funeral services by Rev. David O’Brien are scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00PM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from noon until services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lillian’s name to her church, c/o Moosic A.O.G., 477 N. Third St., Moosic, Pa., 18507.
